When you have kids, there’s no such thing as quality time. There’s just time. You will never look back on your life and think ‘I spent too much time with my kids’.I love nothing more than spending time with my boys. One of the biggest challenges in busy family life is finding the time to spend one-on-one time with each of them. Time where it’s just the two of us hanging out.
Charlie and I recently went on a movie date. We were lucky enough to see the gorgeous new Disney Pixar movie, Coco, in the brand new Reading Cinemas at Newmarket. We ate ice cream, had a dance to the Mexican band and talked Minecraft on the car ride home.
I loved every minute.
We all know life gets in the way and these special outings aren’t always possible. So I’ve created a list of five easy ways to spend one-on-one time with each child.
- Invite them on errands. Even if it’s simply to grab some milk, use that time to talk about their day.
- Have one child each night help cook dinner.
- Read books together.
- Play their favourite games.
- Take a night walk around the block.
I don’t care what we do, I just love spending time with you.
